Out of the three verses given in today's lesson, which struck you as most profound and why?
Matthew 6:21
21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Isaiah 44:9
9 All who make idols are nothing,
and the things they treasure are worthless.
Those who would speak up for them are blind;
they are ignorant, to their own shame.
2 Kings 17:15
15 They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their fathers and the warnings he had given them. They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. They imitated the nations around them although the LORD had ordered them, "Do not do as they do," and they did the things the LORD had forbidden them to do.

Matthew 6:21
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. I like the inverse of this too: follow your heart, and you will find your treasure. I just finished reading The Alchemist, a fable about following the calling of your heart, so this resonates with that journey of complete trust in and compliance with the God of your heart. I also heard someone the other day distinguish between a "desire" and a "want"--a desire is embedded in your heart (and so is spiritually aligned) and a want is disembodied. A good test for pharaohs too.
